Graphics
I had a go at making more graphics on photoshop which i will use in the final of editing our promo film. I was much better at it, as i had played around more and therefore got the hang of it. I did similar shapes in lots of different colours. I have attached a few examples. They will definitely make our promo more colourful!
Outfits and starting to style the promo
We have started to organise the styling for the dancers on the promo.
I have made the necklaces from the pony's and toy elephant, and they look really good. So pleased with my creation and idea.
The pink shoes our my own but will suit the styling good, and we also have a pair of aqua ones. So they will slightly match.
The two dresses i bought from next are the same but in two different bright colours. They are really doll like and great. The black girl will be in the orange one and the white girl in pink, as they suit their skin tones more.

Shopping for film
Me and my partner Kis did some bargain shopping in Pound land for the film. We got some colourful socks for the dancers to wear as they are similar to our designers tights. We also got some toys we are going to make into necklaces, so creativeness is needed. Also we got some party cocktail umbrellas which we are going to put into the dancers afro wig, like our designer did.

Our practice choreography for the promo
This is our practice choreography we free styled. It was so funny when we were trying to be serious. But we managed to get a rough idea of the type of thing we want to film with our professional dancers. But i don't think we were too bad ourselves, lol!!! Check it out and you will understand our story board more. but we are just pretending the boom box is there, etc.
70s show
During the 70s show, there are psychedelic clips of them dancing with in front of them, so its an idea we could do. So to make the film even more psychedelic we would project similar images on the background behind them.

Resort 2010, Issac mizrahi
My make-up artist
I am so happy i have managed to get an amazing make-up artist to do my dancers make-up for the film. I have asked her to do the doll style face, and she will test it out and send me some pics, so keep an eye.
These are some of the work she has done, so certain she will do a great job, as it will make such a difference to make the film look so much more professional.
Beatles, Yellow Submarine
Wow i am on a roll with my research, done so much and feel my ideas are coming to life and even understand myself what i wan to achieve more. Also the more research i do the more my ideas change slightly for the better and i understand my effect and theme more for example.
This is a video of the Beatles, Yellow Submarine. Its definitely psychedelic. So will look at how they used the graphics, and will take note on what objects, etc i may want to use in our promo.
N.synC Its goNna bE Me ...!!!
The N.SYNC music video form ages ago, is based on the artists being dolls stuck inside boxes on a shelf. We could do this in a similar sense. So we would have to film our dancers in front of a green screen and then we could make a small set with a box, which we can edit them into it in the end. So exciting but feel we are really challenging ourselves.
Wind Up Doll
The dancers in our promo will dance/act as they have been winded up. This video really illustrates a human acting as a doll. We will not have the wind up key on the back of them though as i feel its too obvious and cheesy. Also the make-up is great. So i will also show this video to my make-up artist.
kaleidoscope
kaleidoscope: This is a very psychedelic reference. So i was at first considering having this a clips throughout the video. But i feel now it will not match my narrative and promo idea. I guess i could have it at the end when the doll dancers have broken down, and it could portray the drugs induced for example.
RUN DMC
RUN DMC, is a artist reference for idea for my promo. I feel going more urban with this is whats needed as it would suit my designer more, as an 80s psychedelic reference is more similar to a 60s for example. I think i will take the idea of graffiti used and the colours used for this. Also the humour is great. So in a way i will get my dancers to mock these dancers of the 80s for example.
Michael Clark Dance Compan
is a You Tube video, of a
Michael Clark Dance Company video. It illustrates very psychedelic images which i will reference as the colourful spots have a fun humour to them. But the main reason i am looking at it is because it has choreography as its main feature, and is filmed in a studio, which is what i want to do. So i will note down some of the dance moves as its contemporary which is the style i want to do and also has humour, which i want as i want to portray the designers clothes in a positive fun way.

Hair accessories
Necklace for dancers to wear.
MINI TOY WINDMILL
Boom box
For our film we want a boom box or some kind of music player for us to use as its part of the narrative.
As we have been researching more the 60s for their psychedelic references, then a 60s music player is what i guess we should use. But i feel these do not suit our more hip-hop style clothes and a record player may be too retro and not modern enough.
So we will use an 80s Boom box, as there was a psychedelic comeback in the 80s with urban artists. So this would be great and meet the music we are thinking of using. I will have to buy one though, so will have to think of a budget.

Hermes
This Hermes campaign, illustrates their amazing colourful prints. These are the prints i will not only use as inspiration for the styling of clothes on the film but also the graphics i will use during the editing process as they are very psychedelic.
The image was ripped out of Harpers Bazaar magazine, the march 2010 issue.
TIE-DYE
TIE-DYE, is something i will definitely use when it comes to searching for clothes for the film, as our designer Emma Bell uses it as the main feature to her collections, and its also very psychedelic and goes with our 60s colourful theme. Here are some images from a collection of different brands, which i found in fashion magazines which also use TIE-DYE, so as its in trend surely it cant be that hard to find in shops and buy.

Filming location
The idea we had of using a studio for all of our filming for the promo. An idea we could also consider is using a graffiti background, as they are often very colourful and feel would suit our choreography effect. It would also make the promo for street and urban which i feel matches the style of designers fashion.
AFRO WIG
Psychedelic graphics
These are two graphic images which i feel would be good graphic images to consider when it come to adding them to my film during the editing process.
They were from magazine called 'IDEA', Issue 338. post Pop Graphics.
I am starting to feel nervous about doing these graphics during editing as feel i will have a lot to learn if i want it to look any good. ahhh. Oh well its good to challenge myself and learn new things.

Music
I definitely want to use music in this film, as i feel it will be needed to portray the theme, etc.
We have an idea of house, funky, or 60s cheese. We will have to consider the lyrics of a song, as it will make a difference to the meaning of our promo. It may be easier to use a track with no lyrics.

Wiley & Chew Fu - Take That
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYWvnw_aLso
Look at this link on You Tube. Its a music video, which we could kinda of do in a similar way. As we have choreography. But we just wont have people singing.
I love the speeding up on editing which we can do. Also the dancing is very doll like. So i like how its wild and the music is what we could also work with. Unless we choose to use more 60s music. But this video also has strobe lighting, so i feel its a good reference for inspiration and ideas for our promo.
Strobe lighting
Although we do not have our effect as strobe lighting like some groups do. I would also like to use it and incorporate it in my film. I FEEL IT WOULD SUIT OUR HOUSE TYPE OF MUSIC WE WANT TO USE, AND WOULD ALSO SUIT THE PSYCHEDELIC THEME AS ITS VERY COLOURFUL.
I have attached a clip on you tube which is great. we could easily film this in an night club.
I have attached the link to watch it on you tube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjbrmfjJRk0
(CONTAINS FLASHING IMAGERY!!!!)

Doll like dancers
I have an idea where i would like dancers to move like wind up dolls. i think it would be very psychedelic and also match the type of clothes my designer has. Also then we could play with their make-up ND IT WOULD BE TRIPPY AS THEY WOULD LOOK LIKE MOVING DOLLS. We could even edit it so they look tiny, etc.
